Intro to Physical Oceanography

A core graduate course for oceanographers at UM, describing the physical properties of sea water and the water masses of the ocean, and applying the laws of physics to understanding the large scale circulation of the ocean.

Climate and Global Change

A UM undergraduate course describing the history and physical processes of Earth’s climate and its sensitivities to forcings and feedbacks, including the scientific evidence for present-day anthropogenic climate change, predicted future impacts, and methods and policies for mitigation.

Basic Dynamical Oceanography

This class was developed for Honours students at the University of Cape Town. Over two weeks they learn the fundamental features of ocean circulation through exploration of the physical equations that govern its motion.
